
Master TRAN MINH LONG gave his name to The Minh Long style. He was born in 1925 in Lang Son. In this place he followed during many years the instruction from Master Hoang (A Vo Thuat Master from North Vietnam, in the traditional martial arts center of Cao Lang – Lang Son). In 1947, he went to Hanoi where he joined his cousin Master Nguyen Loc, the founder of the Vovinam-Viêt Vo Dao style. He helped him to teach. In 1962, Master Tran came in France where he began to teach to a restricted group. Then, in 1973, he joined the movement for unifying the Vietnamese Martial Arts. From this movement emerged the first Viêt Vo Dao French Federation. He became on of the founder of the first Master Council.
